The County of Brant will be cancelling several drop in programs if education workers go on strike next week. They will also be offering day camps for residents, who may need to find alternative child care.
BRANT COUNTY - Brant County is letting residents know that several programs will be cancelled next week if education workers do indeed go on strike.
Please be advised that the following County of Brant Recreation Programs will be cancelled due to the impacts of work to rule sanctions and anticipation that CUPE’s work-to-rule sanctions may have a full withdrawal of services by CUPE staff for the Grand Erie District School Board on the morning of Monday October 7, 2019.
Drop-in Programs:
- Monday October 7 – Drop-in Badminton - Cobblestone Elementary School
- Wednesday, October 9 – Drop-in Volleyball – Paris District High School
- Wednesday, October 9 – Children’s Drop-in Basketball – Mt. Pleasant Public School
- Friday October 11 – Drop-in Pickleball – Northward Elementary School
Day Camp Notice:
In the event there is a school closure for the Grand Erie District School Board, the County of Brant will be offering Day Camps at the following locations from 8:00am-5:30pm;
- Syl Apps Community Centre, Paris
- Burford Community Centre, Burford
- Scotland Community Centre, Scotland
