Partially vaccinated students will be allowed to participate at the start, however you must be fully vaccinated by November 1 to participate in extra curriculars this year.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Thames Valley District School Board has provided parents an update on COVID-19 health and safety protocols.
The TVDSB has recently revised protocols for students eligible for the vaccines. Any student who has received their first COVID-19 vaccination will be allowed to participate in extra-curricular activities, such as clubs, music, and athletics.
Students will have to wait 14 days after their first dose to take part and single dose students will need to undergo the following requirements.
- Complete and pass the daily COVID-19 School Screening Tool https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/
- Undergo COVID-19 rapid testing after receiving a first dose of vaccine.
- Perform rapid testing on Sundays and Wednesdays.
- Test results to be confirmed visually (i.e., photo, official receipt by pharmacy, etc.) with school staff on Mondays and Thursdays.
- Families are responsible for obtaining rapid tests, which may be purchased at pharmacies.
Once a student is fully vaccinated, they will not need to do the rapid testing. Those students who wish to participate in extracurricular activities during the 2021-2022 school year must be fully vaccinated no later than November 1, 2021. The process outlined above will only be available until November 1, 2021.
The school board will be unveiling new guidelines for elementary students to do extracurricular's soon.
You can read all of the guidelines and protocols from the TVDSB online here.
