The goats will eat the needles right off the tree until it's just the spine of the tree left.
EMBRO - If you're looking to get rid of your real Christmas tree, a goat farm in Embro will gladly take it off your hands.
Lara Martin-Dow has been collecting real Christmas trees for the past four years now so she can feed them to her goats.
"We get around 20 or 30 trees probably. They start coming right away after Christmas and we just throw a couple in a day and let them eat them."
The farm is located at 3715158 37th Line in Embro, just past the roundabout heading into town and there's a big sign on the property.
You can leave your tree at the end of the driveway, but Martin-Dow says they have to be clear of all decorations.
"Definitely no tinsel or sprays of any kind. The goats are also pretty sensitive to things, like if they have had any chemicals on them the goats won't touch them and if we see anything on them we won't use them. Definitely no decorations."
She owns about 60 to 70 Boer goats which could weigh up to 200 pounds when they're fully grown. Martin-Dow says the goats will eat the needles right off the tree until it's just the spine of the tree left.
