Oxford County is sending reminders to residents to make sure they are prepared in case of an emergency.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County is reminding residents about emergency preparedness.
This week is Emergency Preparedness Week, and the theme this year is "Be Prepared. Know Your Risks." The national campaign runs until the 9th and wants everyone to understand local risks and actions to protect their households. Oxford County Paramedic Services is reminding residents that emergencies can happen at any time, and could include power outages, weather, human health, along with fires and explosions.
The County is promoting their website Oxford72Hours, which you can visit by clicking here. The website lists all the items that should be included in every emergency preparedness kit. Every household is different; your emergency plan should consider everyone’s needs, including your pets, and divide up responsibilities to help keep your household safe during an emergency.
There will also be a video series on the County's YouTube channel, with short videos that provide the critical information that can help protect you and your family during an emergency. You can watch the videos here.
