Temperatures have been oddly mild for the month of January.
OXFORD - Oxford County weather has been less than traditional over the last month.
Despite January typically being the coldest month of the year, temperatures have been mild since the winter storm around Christmas.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says even when we do see seasonal temperatures, they don't last.
"For this time of year, we should normally be looking at daytime highs of around minus two and overnight lows of around minus 10. Those are the type of conditions we got a couple of days ago but they were certainly not long-lasting."
Coulson added that the temperature and precipitation will lead to more freezing rain, which could come as early as tomorrow morning.
It is advised that commuters, especially towards the North or East of Oxford, be aware of the risk of freezing rain should it last longer than expected.
A system centered in Kansas is on a trajectory toward Oxford County.
