Ernie Hardeman Celebrates 20 Years as MPP for Oxford County

A gathering will be held from 5-7pm at Cowan Park on Monday evening.

WOODSTOCK - Cowan Park will be alive with activity on Monday evening to celebrate a major milestone for our MPP of Oxford County Ernie Hardeman.  2015 marks Ernie's 20th year as a member of Provincial Parliament and the event will give Hardeman the chance to thank the public for keeping him in power.  Many things have come and gone since 1995 including a majority government under the Harris administration, but our MPP has enjoyed many proud moments in office.  "There is a lot of memories over 20 years and even if you only have 1 or 2 that stand out it seems to me that if you put all the others together they will stand out even more, like building a new hospital in Woodstock.  The one in particular that stands out is the one that made it mandatory to have carbon monoxide detectors in every home.  The good that will come from that is almost immeasurable".  Hardeman is hoping to see a large crowd join him to celebrate this achievement that will take place from 5-7 at Cowan Park in Woodstock.

Oxford's MPP explains what has been his driving force in continuing politics.  "When I first became the member I set out to accomplish something to be able to give back to the community each time as we got near an election I felt that I had more to contribute and very much enjoy doing it.  We take it one term at a time and keep enjoying it and as long as we are doing that and the people are willing to give me another chance we will continue to do it."

To recognize this accomplishment a special gathering will be taking place a Cowan Park on Monday evening with an invitation from Ernie Hardeman himself.  "We are inviting people to come on out to help us celebrate the fact that I have had the opportunity to be the member for a considerable length of time for the people of Oxford and it is more for me to be able to say thank you to the people then the people to say thank you to me for doing it."  5-7 is when the event will take place and Hardeman has always felt that he has had more to contribute and as long as the people are willing to give him another chance he will continue to do just that.
