Starting today, parents with students in high school can apply for a one time payment of $200 from the Province, or $250 if your kid has special needs.
ONTARIO - The expanded Support for Learners program opens today.
Parents with kids in High school can now apply for a one time payment of $200, or $250 if your child has special needs. This is the same program that was offered to parents with kids in Elementary school last month.
Education Minister Stephen Lecce says parents are encouraged to sign up for the program.
“The expanded Support for Learners program is now open, to help working parents of students aged 13 through Grade 12 with direct financial support during this pandemic. Our government will continue to provide relief to families to help offset additional costs for Ontario’s students.
COVID-19 has imposed many costs on moms, dads and caregivers across the province, and we are committed to helping them through this incredible challenge. Parents should apply as soon as they can. Our priority remains on keeping schools safe, and supporting families every step of the way.”
The deadline to apply is February 8th and you can apply online here.
