Environment Canada warns of wind chills between minus 30 and minus 35 starting tonight and continuing into Saturday morning.
Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for much of Southwestern Ontario, including Oxford County.
They warn of wind chills between minus 30 and minus 35 starting tonight and continuing into Saturday morning.
With the wind chill, the risk of frost bite will be much greater, especially with exposed skin.
The risks are even higher for young children, seniors, people with chronic illnesses, people working outdoors and anyone without proper shelter.
Environment Canada advises people to watch for cold related symptoms: shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes.
Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.
