Bitterly cold temperatures and frigid wind chill values prompts another Extreme Cold Warning.
OXFORD / BRANT - Severe cold weather is expected to linger across the region. Wind chill values will hit near minus 40 in some areas this morning, prompting Environment Canada to issue yet another Extreme Cold Warning.
Due to the cold snap, all school vehicles in Elgin, Middlesex, Oxford and City of London are cancelled for the day, however all schools will remain open.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel thought, as conditions should improve tomorrow as milder air moves into the region.
There is a risk of Frostbite setting in within minutes on exposed skin. Young children, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, people working or exercising outdoors, and those without proper shelter are at greater risk.
It is a good idea to keep emergency supplies in your vehicle such as extra blankets and jumper cables.
Pets should remain indoors today as well. If it's too cold for you to stay outside, it's too cold for your pet to stay outside.
