Water restrictions have been put in place by Oxford County for lawns and gardens in Mount Elgin.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County is restricting the use of water for lawns and gardens in Mount Elgin.
This is to make sure water reserves in the area can support daily household use during this period of hot, dry weather.
According to the following street addresses, customers may only use a sprinkler to water lawns and gardens from 6-9 a.m. and 6-9 p.m. once a week until further notice. - 0 or 1 – outside water use allowed on Mondays - 2 or 3 – outside water use allowed on Tuesdays - 4 or 5 – outside water use allowed on Wednesdays - 6 or 7 – outside water use allowed on Thursdays - 8 or 9 – outside water use allowed on Fridays Watering flower pots, vegetable gardens and trees during normal odd/even day and times is acceptable.
Hoses may not be left unattended. Hot, dry weather can push water systems in the County to their limit. The County says if everyone cuts back a little now, it can help avoid watering bans in our communities.
