Police are warning the public about an impostor in a Pontiac G5 that is trying to pull over vehicles in Oxford and Elgin County.
OXFORD COUNTY - OPP in the Counties of Elgin and Oxford are warning the public about an imposter who is pretending to work for the police.
OPP say a car was approached by a dark Pontiac G5 in Bayham on Wednesday night on Talbot Line. The G5 activated red and blue lights within the front windshield in an attempt to pull the car over. The car left westbound on Talbot Line.
The same thing happened on plank Line North in Mount Elgin on Thursday night. Police are warning that the driver of the G5 is impersonating an officer.
If the public is ever unsure if a police officer is stopping them please contact 9-1-1 to confirm your stop location with police. Impersonating a police officer is a criminal offence.
