Fanshawe graduate Dustin Schumann and current student Andrew Ginther both bring home bronze medals from OTSC
WOODSTOCK - A couple of Fanshawe students from Woodstock picked up some hardware at the Ontario Trades and Skills Competition in Waterloo.
Andrew Ginther picked up a bronze medal in the Heating Systems Technician category. Ginther tells Heart FM he wasn't expecting to win anything and was happy to win the bronze. He also says it was an honour to pick up an award. "I tried to do well in school, do all my work and study a lot and I think this award shows it all paid off I guess. I also want to thank all my teachers at school for preparing me so well." Ginther is a student in the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician Program at the Woodstock Oxford Regional Campus.
Another Woodstock resident, and Fanshaw graduate, Dustin Schumann also won bronze in the hairstyling competition. Schumann is no stranger to winning awards and was recently named the Newcomer of the Year at the Canadian Hairdresser Mirror Awards. Shumann competed as an apprentice in the post-secondary division on behalf of the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities Western Ontario Region.
