Two people have died following a multi-vehicle collision on Brant County Road 22 involving two motorcycles, a pickup truck and an SUV.
BRANT COUNTY - Brant County OPP responded to a multi-vehicle collision earlier today involving two motorcycles, a pickup truck and an SUV.
The collision happened on Brant County Road 22 just after 1:30 pm.
Two motorcycles were travelling northbound when they collided with a pickup truck travelling eastbound on Baptist Church Road.
The first motorcycle collided with the truck ejecting the driver, who suffered serious, life-altering injuries. They were transported by Ornge to a hospital for further treatment.
The second motorcycle also hit the truck, ejecting both the driver and passenger. The driver was taken to local hospital and was treated for serious, life-threatening injuries. The driver died later on. The passenger on the bike was also pronounced dead by the coroner on scene.
The driver of the pickup truck then collided with an SUV that was stopped at the stop sign on Baptist Church Road. The driver and passenger of the SUV suffered no injuries. The driver of the truck had minor injuries and stayed on scene.
OPP Technical Collision Investigators were on scene and assisted with the investigation. The Brant Fire Department and EMS, along with Six Nations Police, Six Nations Fire Department and EMS were on scene as well.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Brant County Road at Baptist Church Road is closed for investigation. It is expected the road will reopen in the next two hours.
