A man has died after a collision between a pick-up truck and a Canadian Pacific train near Thamesford.
ZORRA - A man has died after a collision between a pick-up truck and a train in Zorra Township.
Police were called to the 13th Line between Road 68 and Road 74 just west of Thamesford on Monday, October 17th around 2 a.m.
They discovered a Canadian Pacific train was travelling westbound when it collided with a pick-up truck stopped on the tracks facing southward. The truck was pushed approximately 100 yards before coming to a rest in the south side ditch.
The man driving the pick-up truck was pronounced deceased at the scene. The four CP Rail employees aboard the train at the time were not hurt.
As a result of the investigation, the 13th Line was closed for several hours. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
