UPDATE - A fatal collision occurred at the intersection of Highway 2 and 29th Line near Thamesford.
THAMESFORD - A section of Highway 2 near Thamesford remains closed this afternoon after a fatal three vehicle collision.
Three vehicles were involved in the crash that happened around 10:30 a.m. today at the intersection of Highway 2 and 29th line, northeast of Thamesford. It was reported that a mini van, pickup truck and a tractor trailer had collided at the intersection and multiple people were injured.
The woman driving the mini van was taken to the hospital by air ambulance to a trauma centre and was later pronounced deceased. The driver of the pickup suffered non life threatening injuries and the driver of the transport suffered minor injuries.
The deceased has been identified as 53 year-old Sherry Lynn Wettlaufer of Embro. The cause of the collision is currently being investigated by OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) and the roadway will remain closed until further notice.
