Canadians will head to the polls on Monday April 28th
OTTAWA - Canada's 45th election has officially begun.
Liberal Leader Mark Carney called the federal election yesterday, sending Canadians to the polls on April 28th. He says the election is necessary so we can have a strong response to the economic threats from the United States.
Carney is promising a one-point cut to the middle class tax rate if he becomes Prime Minister, while Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has pledged to fix the immigration system and tackle affordability issues.
Green Party Leader Elizabeth May says her team is the only fighting against climate change, and NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh is reminding everyone how his party played a big role in the introduction of the national dental care and pharmacare programs.
We are aware of three candidates running in Oxford County at the moment. Arpan Khanna is running for re-election as our Conservative Member of Parliament and he is up against David Hilderley and the Liberals and Matthew Chambers and the NDP.
