A third mosquito trap in Woodstock has tested positive for West Nile. This is the fifth positive test in all of Oxford County this summer with traps in Tillsonburg and Ingersoll also discovering mosquitoes carrying the virus. Public Health and Emergency Services have increased mosquito surveillance and larvicided public catch basins to help control the mosquito population in the County. People are being encouraged to wear light coloured clothing and keep skin covered. Also wear a bug spray that contains DEET and get rid of standing water at home to avoid breeding grounds.
