WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Fire Department is reminding residents the Open Air Burning Ban is still in place.
As we get set for the weekend, this means you cannot have a backyard fire. This includes all backyard wood burning appliances.
Exceptions include propane generated appliances but you are reminded to use these with caution and place them 3 feet from any combustible materials.
They did issue a statement saying they appreciate the community’s cooperation to date but would like to remind citizens that any contravention to the above bylaws can be subject to subsequent fines.
The City of Woodstock is the only municipality in Oxford County with a ban on campfires at this time.
