The revenue payment from OLG has been made to Woodstock from the first quarter.
WOODSTOCK - The City of Woodstock has received its first quarter gaming revenue payment of $463,231 from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).
The City receives these payments for hosting Gateway Casinos, and the money is set aside for its Community Grants Program.
The local casino first opened in June 2001, and Oxford MPP Ernie Hardeman says the City has received $29,058,378 since then.
"OLG is a strong partner that provides substantial benefits to Woodstock. In addition to creating jobs at Gateway Casinos Woodstock, important investments in Woodstock’s public services are made possible through OLG’s sharing of casino revenue."
These payments to host communities are based on a formula in the Municipality Contribution Agreement that is consistently applied across all land-based casino sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.
