BLANDFORD BLENHEIM - The three Canadian flags stolen from the Afghanistan Memorial have been returned to Blandford Blenhiem Township.
Blandford Blenheim Mayor Marion Wearn made the announcement before the council meeting yesterday according to Easy 101 reporter Brian Donlevy. She made the announcement right before receiving three new flags from Woodstock Mayor Trevor Birtch on behalf of local MPP Ernie Hardeman and local MP Dave Mackenzie.
The flags were taken during the Private Tyler Todd Memorial hockey tournament over the weekend. 158 Canadian flags hang at the Plattsville Afghanistan Memorial to represent the 158 soldiers who lost their life on the mission. The flags were returned anonymously.
