TOWNSHIP of PERTH SOUTH - A flashing light light from the stop signs in the Township of Perth South have been stolen.
The lights were taken from the signs at the intersection of Road 112 and Line 29. Police are not sure when the theft happened, however it was likely within the last week.
The flashing lights had been added to increase the visibility of the stop signs while those roads were being used as a detour during the construction of the roundabout on Highway 7. These lights were added to the stop signs by the Township as a safety measure after receiving numerous complaints of vehicles going through the stop sign.
The lights are described as a single, red flashing traffic light, surrounded by a black casing. The light is attached to the stop sign with a yellow post and is powered by a solar panel, which is attached to the top of the light.
The Stratford Police and the Township of Perth South are asking for anyone with information regarding this matter to please contact the Stratford Police at 519-271-4141, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. The Township is also asking that if anyone knows of the whereabouts of the lights to please return them to, either, the intersection they were taken from, or the Township office, located within the Village of St Pauls.
