Food Addicts In Recovery Anonymous offering way to keep your New Year's Resolutions.
WOODSTOCK - A New Year brings plenty of resolutions for people looking to turn their life around. A popular resolution has been dieting, losing weight or getting fit. Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous is a group dedicated to helping those who are in recovery from overeating, have an obsession with dieting or other food related issues. Marilyn* from Food Addicts In Recovery Anonymous says the group experiences a spike in the number of people attending their group sessions in the New Year, "We have two spikes in the year, one is in September and one is in January, and it happens every year and lots of times people do come out and lose the weight and they don't stick around to really get the true recovery of what's eating them on the inside it's all about the appearance on the outside."
You can get started early with food addict recovery by attending their first meeting of the New Year at 10 a.m. on Saturday January 3rd at the Rock Community Church in Woodstock. Anyone is welcome to attend. Admittance into the group is open to anyone interested in recovering. There are no dues for the group apart from voluntary donations to help the group pay for the rental of the venue they use for meetings.
