Premier Doug Ford and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau say announcement on $10-a-day child care is coming soon.
Canada's prime minister and Ontario's premier say parents can expect an announcement about $10-a-day child care soon.
During a press conference in Alliston, Ontario, Justin Trudeau and Doug Ford were asked for an update on the state of negotiations.
The pair noted talks are continuing, and an announcement would be made "very, very soon."
Ontario is the only province that hasn't signed on to the plan put forth by the federal government.
The plan looks to cut child care fees in half by the end of this year, and bring costs down to $10 a day by 2026.
While the province has faced increasing pressure to finalize a deal before the fiscal year ends on March 31st, Ford has maintained the current funding offer does not properly address Ontario's needs.
