The new detachment commander for the Brant County OPP got his start in Oxford.
Inspector Peter Liptrott has accepted the top position next door in Brant County and will take over for retired Inspector Dave Durant. Liptrott started is policing career with the Oxford OPP in 1997 where he served in uniform patrol. He also spent two years with the Criminal Investigative Unit as a Property Crimes Investigator and a Detective Constable with the Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit in Oxford. Liptrott moved to London in 2008 as the Detective Sergeant in the London Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit and became Detective Staff Sargeant in 2013. In a press release sent to Heart FM Liptrott says “I am very excited to be assigned as the new Brant County OPP Detachment Commander and I look forward to providing policing excellence in cooperation with the community of Brant County while committed to public safety.”
