OXFORD COUNTY - The Oxford County Animal Rescue is in need of more foster homes.
Foster Coordinator Anna Holmes says the rescue relies on foster homes to house the most of the animals in the their care until they find their forever homes.
"We're getting more and more calls every day with people needing to surrender their dogs and right now we are sort of reaching the top of our capacity for intaking cats and kittens."
The Oxford County Animal Rescue currently has seven cats and one dog under the adoption section of their website and that's not including the animals that are not ready to find their forever homes yet.
Holmes says those interested in becoming a foster home can find the application on their website.
"You can fill out an application, let us know what you are interested in and what your comfort level is. Right now at my house I have three pregnant (cats) because we don't have anybody who is comfortable birthing babies."
Once the application is received you will meet with Holmes in order to determine the next steps.
The Oxford County Animal Rescue is also in need of pet food at this time, especially cat and kitten food. Holmes says their preferred brands are Purina Kitten Chow, Purina One, and IAMS. You can also donate to the rescue online here.
