Oxford County residents in Ingersoll and Woodstock can get a free ride to and from the London Pride Festival this week.
The Pride London Festival is offering free rides to the event this year to residents of Oxford County.
Thanks to a grant from the Ontario 150 program they are able to provide free transportation to the 11 day festival. Busses are running from the Foodland in Woodstock and the Tim Horton's in Ingersoll to the Festival at the Western Fairgrounds. Past President of Pride London Festival Martin Withenshaw tells Heart FM they are hoping a lot of people will take advantage of the free rides on Sunday for the parade.
"Sunday is the big parade day and people that want to get on the bus and then walk in the parade, they will be dropped off at Western Fair and then the rest will be taken down to Victoria park."
The free transporation has been in the works for a couple of years now and were made possible thanks to the support of Oxford County Pride, Oxford County Rainbow Coalition, Central Community Health Centre, Next Wave Youth Centre, St. Thomas-Elgin Rainbow Alliance & West Elgin Community Health Centre.
The Pride Festival started last Friday and they have tons of events happening this weekend.
You can find a link to the transportation schedule online here.
