Lots of motorcyclists will brave the cold so they can head on down to Port Dover for Friday the 13th.
PORT DOVER - It's Friday the 13th and even though it's December, you can still expect to see motorcycles on the roads today.
Andrew Gamble, the Media Relations and Community Safety Officer with the Norfolk OPP, says they're going to be heading to Port Dover for the Friday the 13th celebrations.
"We're not expecting the 75,000 people we saw back in September, but there will be motorcyclists and motorcycle enthusiasts in the area for the duration of the day."
He says motorcyclists should do their research before leaving and be prepared for changing road conditions.
"Keep an eye on a weather app or check the most current weather conditions online before you come and give yourself enough time to get into Port Dover safely. You should also leave at a good time as well because the sun sets quite early this time of the year."
Gamble would not like to see a repeat of what happened the last Friday the 13th.
"Back in September, there was a fatal incident involving a motorcyclist on the outskirts of Port Dover. We never want this to happen, just one fatal incident is one too many, so just drive in such a way that is going to get you home safely to your family."
Norfolk OPP officers will be out and about to make sure everyone has a safe and fun time today.
