South-West Oxford resident Kathy Geltink is running for S.W Oxford council as thanks for support she received during a difficult time.
SOUTH-WEST OXFORD- 9 years ago Kathy Geltink lost her daughter in a car crash. The outpouring of community support has triggered Geltink's decision to run for Ward 3 in South-West Oxford as a way to "give back to the community and I thought this is one way a person can give to the community."
Geltink says she has a diplomatic approach to resolving and tackling issues.
"I think supervising and dealing with people and gaining people's trust is what it's all about and representing people and being there for them and bringing their problems and issues forward and dealing with them," said Geltink.
Geltink has been actively within the community.
I've been involved in a lot of different committees and clubs, I am the president of the Oxford Trail Riders which are celebrating their 60th year next year."
Geltink is also the Director of the Ontario Appaloosa Horse Association.
Geltink is the second candidate running for Ward 3 in South-West Oxford.
