A Grade 4 Woodstock girl won the provincial ball throw competition over the weekend in Mississauga. But what makes the story even more remarkable, is that Logan Machin, doesn't normally throw anything. Logan is visually impaired, and isn't able to play baseball, or even see where the ball ends up when she throws one. Her mom, Melissa says it came as a surprise, when Logan won their school competition and then just kept winning, culminating in an Ontario Championship this weekend. "We had no clue whatsoever. It was just a fluke that she ended up winning here at the school, and went onto CASS, then on to Western (University), and to the provincial meet and ended up winning all the events." Even Logan surprised herself. "It was shocking that I won, but I'm happy and glad that I won." In Mississauga, Logan launched a ball 101.5-feet. That was 25 more feet than her closest competitor in her age category.
