OPP Constable Greg Pierzchala was killed in December 2022. Randall McKenzie and Brandi Stewart-Sperry now face life in prison.
CAYUGA - A verdict has been delivered in the trail against the two people accused of killing an OPP officer.
Constable Greg Pierzchala was killed in a shooting west of Hagersville on December 27th, 2022. He was responding to a car in a ditch and that's when the shots were fired. He was 28-years-old.
Randall McKenzie and Brandi Stewart-Sperry were both charged with first-degree murder and they pled not guilty in court. After a four-week trial and about six hours of jury deliberations, a guilty verdict was delivered.
McKenzie and Stewart-Sperry have both been sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years.
In a statement released last night, OPP Commissioner Thomas Carrique said this verdict important step the OPP moved forward and continues Constable Pierzchala's work.
