Not one, but two Habitat for Humanity homes will be in Woodstock soon enough. A new build was announced Monday (see photo), just six months after the first was completed at the corner of Finkle and Main. A large donation of $75,000 from Toyota moved the process along quicker than expected. CEO of Oxford, Middlesex, Elgin Jeff Duncan said they're still deciding on a location and family for the home. "We've got a great partnership we're forming with Len Reeves putting some land together, we're trying to work out the final details on that right now. We don't have the family yet, we're going to start doing that now along with a few other details. But we really felt strongly that we needed to get back to this community and send a message that we're here to stay and it's because of the way this community has responded to people in need," said Duncan. The official location of the Woodstock build is expected to be announced by November. And they hope to be permanently located in Woodstock. Duncan says they're looking for space to set up an office. "Our goal is to open a third ReStore for our affiliate in Woodstock. We're negotiating a lease right now, we're very close. The idea of that is that we'll also be able to take some of those funds from the ReStore to help build houses too, so some of that money will go towards house construction," said Duncan. The announcement of the ReStore is expected sometime this month.
