Handbags for Hospice was a huge success this year, raising $365,000 for VON Sakura House.
WOODSTOCK - That's $365,000 for VON Sakura House.
Handbags for Hospice took over the Oxford Auditorium on Friday January 26th, and it was a huge success thanks to the 825 people in attendance. A total of 105 volunteers also helped make the event possible.
The evening included live and silent handbag auctions, a Louis Vuitton raffle, a Thirty One Bag luggage raffle, and a wine pull.
The Fund-a-Need portion of the night also raised a record-breaking $100,000 which will help pay for the renovation of 10 patient rooms at the hospice.
Co-chairs Sarah Pimentel and Jill Roberts issued the following statement in a press release:
"We started the planning process about a year ago, and we are thrilled to bring the event back to this level of success. Once again, Oxford County has pulled together to ensure that our Sakura House will always remain available to our community. Thanks to all our sponsors, donors, volunteers, and support, we could not have done this without your commitment to this cause."
