Ontarians with expired health cards have until September 30th to update them.
ONTARIO - If you have been using an expired health card, you now have until the fall to get a new one.
Health Minister Christine Elliott says the Ford Government has decided to extend the renewal deadline to September 30th, 2022.
"In response to the pandemic our government extended the renewal requirements for Ontario health cards. While the majority of Ontarians have continued to renew their documents throughout the pandemic, we are committed to ensuring all Ontarians have the opportunity to renew while continuing to access the care they need, when they need it.”
The previous renewal deadline was scheduled for February 28th, 2022.
Ontarians will be able to use their expired health cares to access health care services leading up to the new September 30th deadline. This will also apply to those who are still using red and white health cards.
You can renew your health card online here or by visiting your local ServiceOntario office.
