The heat warning in Oxford County brings up the fact of heat vs. health.
OXFORD COUNTY - A heat warning is still in effect for Oxford County.
Program Manager for Environmental Health at Southwestern Public Health, Amy Pavletic says you should be aware of the symptoms of heat illness.
"When you are dizzy, you might feel nauseous, you might find if you sit down in the shade and drink some water you might feel better. If you have something more related to heat stroke, then oftentimes you will feel that sitting down, drinking water and getting into a cool environment doesn't elevate those symptoms."
Temperatures are expected to be 30 to 35 degrees Celsius with humidex values of 40 to 45. Pavletic says what course of action should be taken if you are suffering from heat illness.
"We would advise people to call 9-1-1 if you are feeling symptoms of heat stroke because that is where you are going to get treatment right away, especially if it is a situation where the person is feeling quite ill."
The heat warning is expected to continue through Friday.
