Extreme heat affects everyone, however, the risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.
OXFORD / BRANT - Environment Canada has issued a Heat Warning for the region, as temperatures are forecast to be 30 to 33 degrees, with the humidex projected to be around 40-42.
Some relief is expected this evening as a cold front will pass through southern Ontario from west to east. This will bring in a slightly cooler and drier air mass for Tuesday.
A reminder of these hot and humid days to check on friends, family, and neighbours. Extreme heat affects everyone, however, the risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.
Be sure to stay hydrated, reduce your heat risk by planning activities during the coolest parts of the day, and remember to never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle, as it can be fatal.
