Ingersoll is looking at a major highway project a few years out. The Ministry of Transportation has started the process towards replacing the Highway 19 overpass. Plans were presented to Ingersoll Council last week, that will include the old bridge being deconstructed with a new one being built. This will also force a temporary closure of Highway 19. Frank Hochstenback, Engineer with the Ministry of Transportation says it's still several years out. "It's not currently programmed on the 5-year-plan. Contingent on funding and approvals and completion of detailed design, it could go as early as 2015." The public will get a chance to see plans Tuesday night at a public meeting at the Ingersoll arena. It runs from 4-7PM. The plan includes roundabouts at the ramp terminal intersections, getting on and off the highway. Just last week, the same Engineers presented plans in Woodstock for the replacement of the Norwich Ave. overpass. That will not include roundabouts.
