Location and price point are driving people toward Oxford County when they are looking at buying a home.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock, Ingersoll, and area home sales remained historically strong in the month of January.
The numbers from the Woodstock-Ingersoll and District Real Estate Board were very positive for the month. Board President Nick Lalli says January was one of the better months on record for sales in the region and he expects we will see another year of strong gains.
"We are continuing a strong market in our area here and one of the things to consider is we look at the statistics monthly, however when it comes to dissecting what they really mean, you have to look at the long term picture in the analysis. Things are going very well for Woodstock and Ingersoll in general because of our location and when you look around and see the activity that is going on with construction, people moving to town, things like that. We're much more economically priced for the same type of home than the centres east of us."
The average price of homes sold in January 2016 was $253 435, up 8.1 percent from January 2015. 73 units sold during the month which is actually down 7.6 percent from January 2015.
