WOODSTOCK - Going green could help Ontario's economy into the black - that according to a new proposal from the province's NDP leader.
Andrea Horwath was in Woodstock yesterday - announcing a major energy retrofit program for commercial, industrial and residential buildings. She says the program, should create about 100,000 jobs, and funnel $15.2 billion into Ontario’s economy.
The announcement could be good news to Oxford County's plan to go with 100 percent renewable energy.
Horwath’s goal would be to retrofit at least five percent of Ontario buildings per year to be more energy efficient - and mandate by 2030, that all new buildings conform to net-zero emissions.
New Democrats have a bold plan to tackle the climate emergency.
