The real work of knocking down the old Woodstock Hospital is underway. A crew of 30 workers from Priestly Demolition are on side, tearing down, and stripping away the old hospital buildings, some of which, date back 120-years. Woodstock Hospital VP of Services Perry Lang explains how it's being deconstructed. "They started at the emerge, where the emerge and ICU was. They'll work their way back through the middle of the building and they're anticipating that demolition will be complete by the middle of June." Perry says they're leaving the chimney for the grand finale. He says there will be advance notice to neighbours, the media and public who want to come witness the final demolition. "And that would happen over the course of a day or two. And it will be taken down mechanically in small chunks, and I think that would be good visualization of the demolition coming to completion." The old hospital site is slated to be some low density residential land.
