Summer is in full swing and the temperatures are expected to remain hot and dry in Oxford County.
It is going to be a hot and dry start to the summer in Oxford County.
Environment Canada expects the temperatures will be average to above average for the next week or two. They also are not calling for any rain at this time over the next 7 to 10 days. Meteorologist Geoff Coulson tells Heart FM it was a really dry Spring, maybe even record setting.
"In terms of looking back at the May numbers, it was the dryest May in the area since 1987, we only received 26.6 mm of rain where we would normally get about 86 mm of rain in the month of May."
Coulson says unfortunately for farmers and gardeners looking for rain, he just doesn't see any in the forecast right now.
"So for those hoping for a bit of rain in the agricultural community, it looks like we are not really expecting to much in that regard for them and even into the forecast for the first week of July, dryer than normal conditions are expected to persist."
