Emily Bruinsma will be attending the studio arts program at Western University this Fall.
OXFORD COUNTY - The 2024 Friends of the Woodstock Art Gallery Legacy Scholarship has been awarded.
It is given each year to a graduating student from high school in Oxford County, who is looking to further their education in the arts. This year, Emily Bruinsma was given the scholarship, she attended Ingersoll District Collegiate Institute and will be going to Western in the Fall for the studio arts program.
She was presented with the award at the gallery’s spring open house, which took place on May 8th. The Woodstock Art Gallery launched the Creative Pathways: Emerging Artist Mentorship Program at the event. The program will pair local high school students with a professional artist, which allows them to create an exhibit at the gallery.
Creative Pathways will be on display in the Community Gallery until the June 22nd. Bruinsma will have six artworks on display in the second-floor hallway through the summer.
