The Ingersoll Cheese & Agricultural Museum needs your votes in the Ontario Choice Awards put on by Attractions Ontario
INGERSOLL - Oxford County is well represented in the Ontario's Choice Awards put on by Attractions Ontario.
The Ingersoll Cheese & Agricultural Museum is among the finalists in the category of Top Small Museum, Art Gallery, or Historic Site.
Curator of the Ingersoll Cheese & Agricultural Museum Scott Gillies attributes their place among the eight finalists to a lot of hard work.
"Ingersoll has been doing some things that have paid off with attendance, with activities, with community support. So I think that's one of the things that helps to make us stand out from the rest of our peers."
Gillies says they are really hoping they can rely on more of that community support to help them in this competition.
"We're under the icon for Top Small Museums and you can vote once or as many times as possible. It's a case where you can vote continually throughout the season and the contest runs until September the 6th."
If you've never been, Gillies says this is a great time to visit the museum and see what they are all about.
"Well currently we have a special exhibit on the Mammoth Cheese. This year, 2016, marks the 150th anniversary of the making of a giant wheel of cheese at what is now the location of the Elm Hurst Inn. And it weighed over 7 000 pounds."
