Ingersoll staff won't be getting the same retirement benefits as they use to. The town has approved cutbacks to the packages for all new hires. CAO Darrell Parker says it'll save taxpayer dollars. "[Cuts are] fairly common now. Those benefits from years past, it's been recognized that the cost overall to the taxpayer is fairly substantial. So I think we will still be competitive in our benefit package and who we attract to this community," said Parker. The town will see a number retirements in the near future that will result in the replacement of employees. New staff will receive reworked benefits that are being looked at by the CAO.
