400 tickets were sold and 6 buses were packed to make a trip to the Roger's Centre in Toronto
INGERSOLL - After the first time in recent history Ingersoll Day at the Roger's Centre has proven to be well attended. 400 tickets were sold that resulted in 6 buses that made the trip to Toronto on Sunday morning to cheer on the Blue Jays as they attempted to beat the Seattle Mariners.
General Manager of the Ingersoll District Chamber of Commerce Ann Campbell spoke with Heart FM on route to the Roger's Centre, about how this event came to be and the special ceremony that took place at the Roger's Centre. "Things have been going really well and actually rather smooth! The event itself we decided we would like to try something new this year and we have never done this before. We knew Woodstock has done it, and had great success so we thought let's try it in Ingersoll and see how it goes, we even surprised ourselves by selling 400 tickets to this. The Mayor Ted Comiskey, myself and Dale Flynn, Dale is the one who got this ball rolling for us he is one of our directors. They are going to make a presentation to us it is going to be a very busy day down there and very exciting."
Campbell commented that the atmosphere on the bus was full of excitement as Ingersoll represented Oxford County in Toronto "Very exciting there is a lot of children they brought their gloves and they are all raring to go. Our more experienced folks are here to and they are all excited as well."
