Four Ingersoll Youth Hockey teams were presented with the Achievement of Excellence Award at Ingersoll Council on Monday night
INGERSOLL - It was a big year for Ingersoll youth hockey teams.
Four teams were presented with the Achievement of Excellence Award at Ingersoll Council on Monday night. The Ingersoll Boy's Bantam Rep hockey team was one of three Ingersoll hockey teams given the award for their stellar seasons. The boys won both the regional and international SilverStick tournaments including the OMHA title.

Not to be outdone were the Ingersoll Girl's Ice Pee Wee Rep team that had a nearly perfect regular season, losing only one game. Pee Wee Assistant Coach Nelson Costa says the team gelled very well, "It started off - we had a pretty strong team we were doing pretty well with most games - stayed in most games and it continued on throughout the whole season. We never let off the gas and we played really well and we only lost one game all season long."
Their goalie Tori Lynn Slade was stellar in net finishing off the season with 24 shutouts.
Other teams honoured with the Achievement of Excellence Award included the Brokerlink Atom Rep Team and Pointing Financial Group Pee Wee Rep Team.
