Ingersoll Mayor Preaching Patience as We Enter Stage 3 on Friday

Mayor Ted Comiskey says that the town gets no advance notice from Queen's Park for an overall plan but the specifics can delay opening.

INGERSOLL - With the province moving to stage 3 on Friday it will mean the opening of more municipal facilities, but that doesn't mean the facilities will open on Friday.

Mayor Ted Comiskey says that the town gets no advance notice from Queen's Park for an overall plan but the specifics can delay opening.

"The whole thing is, is that you can say something is open but then you go back to the Ministry of Health and they say yes, it can be open, if you do this, if you do that. I just want people to be patient, when the decision of the Ministry comes down saying, ok we are going to allow this to take place now, they are not saying that as of Friday, these things will be open. What they are saying is that as of Friday, the municipality involved with it, will understand what they have to do to make it possible to open."

Comiskey uses the example of the splash pads. Before opening they had to find out the new rules that apply.  In this case it meant staffing it full time, the ability to control the number of visitors and fencing around the entire pad, all of which takes time to pull together.
