Sarah Klassen is a PSW who is always willing to go the extra mile to help those at Woodingford Lodge in Ingersoll.
INGERSOLL - A PSW at the Woodingford Lodge in the Town of Ingersoll is being recognized as an everyday hero.
Sarah Klassen goes above and beyond at her job every single day. Her co-worker Terrie Falkins explains why she wanted to shine a light on Klassen.
"She is somebody who always goes above and beyond. She has brought toasters in for work, she has brought fryers in, she does a lottery group, she is always there when you need her, she devotes so much of her time to Woodingford Lodge and I think she needs to be recognized, this place would fall apart without her."
Falkins says Klassen has really stepped up her game during the pandemic, when Long Term Care Homes have been under tight restrictions.
"She is always offering help, I know myself, I have had a hard time and she is there and she checks in on me and she's offered her place."
Woodingford Lodge in Ingersoll is one of the few LTC homes that has not gone into outbreak.
Klassen is always offering up her place to coworkers to stay to beat the heat or to avoid travelling in the winter. She offers up gift cards to people struggling and is known to even buy the odd stranger a meal. Falkins says last week the home almost suffered from a flood.
"She saw the court yard flooded and she put her rubber boots on and she got out there, soaking wet to help Woodingford so they didn't get a flood and then she went back out onto the floor soaking wet. She is such a devoted person and you know what, she is not just a PSW, she has a heart of gold."
