It was another Heart FM Morning Show interview with Jerry Acchione. A big topic of discussion was the 2026 Capital Budget.
WOODSTOCK - It is budget season in the City of Woodstock.
Council will get their first look at the 2026 Capital Budget at their meeting Thursday night. Mayor Jerry Acchione speaks to the overall numbers that will be presented.
"So, this year's budget is on maintenance and replacement of existing capital assets. We're forecasting $27,000,114 and now new and growth-related, a forecast spending of $2,283,000 million."
Acchione says there will be review meetings scheduled for November 25th, and, if necessary, on the 27th. He adds that if all comes together, the Capital budget should be adopted during the Council meeting on December 11th. Acchione also talked about the festive holiday events that took place in the City over the weekend, and had this message.
"Thank you so much to all the organizers this past weekend. A lot of work went into the Lighting of the Lights, staff, and volunteers. And then on Saturday, everything was so well organized by the time we got there. And that's because of the Woodstock Lions Club and doing all that work along with city staff to get it organized and prepared."
