A ribbon cutting ceremony was held for Station 81 on Saturday.

PRINCETON - It was an exciting day for Blandford-Blenheim Township.

A ribbon cutting was held for the brand new fire station in Princeton on Saturday.

Director of Protective Services Drew Davidson says a lot of thought went into the planning process for Station 81.

"We made sure that we put careful thought into the planning of it for generations to come. Whether its the equipment that's changing or the training needs that need to be met going forward, we tried to look into the future as much as possible."

An open house was also held on Saturday, so those in attendence could see everything for themselves.

Davidson would like to thank everyone who helped make this new station possible.

"I'd just like to thank the community, our council, and everyone who has supported this project along the way and seen the importance not only for today, but for the health and safety of firefighters and the public in the future."

Station 81 is located at 707024 Township Road 2.
