Crimes of the Heart will make its ITOPA debut on Friday April 25th.
INGERSOLL - The Ingersoll Theatre of Performing Arts (ITOPA) is about to debut its latest production, Crimes of the Heart.
It follows the story of three sisters running into their own troubles while they to wait to hear news about their grandfather, who is living out his final hours in a hospital.
Publicity Director Vanessa Page says it does cover some delicate topics such as suicide, domestic violence, and racism but its handled very carefully.
"ITOPA and the Director Michelle Murphy have delicately placed these items on the stage for us to think about while we're watching and the cast have done a phenomenal job bringing that across to the audience."
Lillee-Faith Scotney plays the character of Babe, the youngest of the three sisters, in the production.
"When it comes to the delicate issues we talk about, a lot of it does center around her. I would like to say that I portray it well because she is a strong character when it comes to her past trauma."
Crimes of the Heart is a Pulitzer Prize winning play written by Beth Henley. It was also turned into a movie starring Sissy Spacek, Diane Keaton, and Jessica Lange in 1986.
The show will make its ITOPA debut on Friday April 25th, with shows also scheduled for April 26th, April 27th, May 1st, May 2nd, May 3rd, and May 4th. Tickets can be purchased through the ITOPA website.
Vanessa Page and Lillee-Faith Scotney stopped by the Heart FM studio for a live interview with Dan and Marcie on Tuesday April 15th. You can listen to the full interview below:
